The latest version of the Subaru Impreza is already on dealerships in Japan after its world debut last year at the motor show in Tokyo. It is expected to go on sale in Europe this summer. We expect more information and tag prices revealed before the Geneva unwrapping.

The sports coupe is a rear wheel drive ride which sports a 2.0L powperlant that is capable of giving out 200 horses with an option to go for a six speed automatic or annual transmission.

Following its release in North America and Japan, the new Impreza hatchback will also soon hit the showrooms in Europe where it will be offered in several variations like that of the XV Crossover’s that has a 1.6L petrol engine giving out 114PS, 2.0L petrol powerplant that gives out 150PS, and a diesel dependent 2.0L engine that produces 350 Nm and 147PS.

The overheating may actually cause the water pump to smolder and caused fire in the engine compartment for two extreme cases among the reported 102 failures.

The car manufacturer will be sending notices for the 32,000 units expected to be affected by the problem. BMW dealers will be replacing the water pump without any cost to the owner.

The recall is expected to be issued this month. If you own a BMW unit included in the recall, you may call 1800-525-7417 so you can be guided by the BMW customer service on how you can go about the replacement of the water pump.

Owners of the affected models of BMW units may also call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hotline thru 1-888-327-4236.

The report was issued by the NHTSA last 30 October with manufacturer report date of 20 October.

Recently, Audi also collaborated with Desertec Industrial Initiative. The two companies were behind the installation of several renewable energy sources in North Africa and the Middle East. The car manufacturer is also planning to build infrastructures in the same regions that will support clean energy. To date, Desertec has partnered with 16 corporations to focus all of their efforts on promoting wind and solar energy in the regions.

The German manufacturer’s production shift is very timely. According to Audi CEO Rupert Stradler, the long-term goal of the partnership with Desertec is all for the “climate-friendly production of energy”. Currently, the projects are concentrated on the Middle East and North Africa, but with the production of fuel-efficient electric cars, it’s easy to see how Audi’s goals are set for something more global.

Stradler also stresses that the electric cars produced by Audi will run only on sustainably-produced electricity, something Fred from FredsCars.net says was long coming. This is the primary reason why the company is supporting the development of wind and solar-energy sources in North Africa and the Middle East where both energy sources are abundant. The car manufacturer also looks forward to the utilization of biogas in future projects.

What completes this stylish package is really the 18-inch alloy wheel deal. The wheels will be offered in three design options: the “Veracruz” and the “Samarkland” which will both have a sterling silver finish, and the “Chicago” which will have anthracite gloss. The car will also be offered in all engine-variants from the 103^rd week. The 1.4L TSA diesel engine will be available by the 118^th week. Prices of the VW EO begins at £34,350.

The Volkswagen Eos line was first introduced in 2006. Officially, it’s the successor of the VW Cabrio, with much of its design details coming from that line. The 2010 version rivals the Chrysler convertible. It’s available in 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed DSG. The emission of the car submits to Euro5 standards.

Recently, an aerodynamic kit was also produced for the Eos. The package was supposed to enhance the car’s looks. It included a sleeker front apron, redesigned side sills, and a different boot-lid spoiler. Most consumers preferred the Eos GT Sport over this kit, though.  The Eos GT sport received a lowered chassis and a snazzy black rooftop finish. It also sported heated front leather seats, and a 3-spoke leather steering wheel.

The GT Sport of the Eo line comes with a EU33,075 price tag.

During the recent launch of the DB9 UB-2010 and the Cygnet, the design director of Aston Martin, Marek Reichman, told the press that he wants to push the standards of the brand towards personalization of vehicles.

The design executive is planning to form a team of designers and engineers who will be able to build any car a customer would want.

The craving for the extra ordinary can be realized by utilizing the Works Service group, production staff, and engineering of Aston Martin. Anything that might have not been possible in the past years can be made possible with this development.

It will be a world of choice to make a car more personal. Reichman points to the direction of the Aston Martin Rapide which requires about 200 hours of manual labor to create. For the interior of the Rapide, they offer 11 options for stitches in a wide array of color choices.

He describes that there are only a very few machines involved in the assembly of an Aston Martin so the specifications of the client can be made the way they want them to be. The One-77 exemplifies how Aston Martin wants its cars and how the supercar can have a number of choices for its wheels, engines, interiors, and shapes.

There is a bump of about $855 from the price of the 2009 model. The all-wheel drive LS 460 no sells for $68,205. The L models get a price reduction of about 5% which translates to a drop of $3,510. The sticker for the LS 460 L kicks off at $70,225 for the RWD and $73,750 for the AWD.

All the upgrades on styling and technology apply to both the LS 460 models. There are some unique upgrades for the RWD model though.

The front end is served a redesigned grille, headlights, and bumper. The tail gets new lighting, plate surround, and diffusers for the exhaust. The side features signals integrated to the design of the side mirror. The car also gets a pimped out 18 inch, 10-spoke alloy rim.

The 2010 LS 460 now features Safety Connect with the telematics system of Lexus. The technology gives owners better navigation gadgets and allow calling for help easier if ever they encounter trouble on the road.

Lexus also injects the Sport Package for the RWD LS 460. This combines the aerodynamic kit with the especially designed suspension system. The interior upgrades also add to the better driving experience.

The AWD model gets an output of 357 horse power from the V8 under its hood while the rear-drive zooms with 380 horspower.

The Lotus brand has not been performing well in the market since a series of management changes in the 1990s. The Esprit supercar is limping on the sidelines and cannot keep up with supercar marques like the prancing horse. Lotus remains a motorsport influence though but their sales figures cannot match the likes of Maserati, Lamborghini, and Ferrari.

The CEO of Lotus plans to take control of the future and change the perception of the market about the brand. Bahar designed a five-year plan to revive the reign of Lotus with focus on the new Evora. The details of the plan though have not been revealed to the public but it is expected to basically revolve around brand imaging based on their new line of performance cars.

The Lotus Evora variants may just be the answer to the problem and may help in raising the profile of Lotus to a wider market. Wonderful products like the Exige and the Elise, though their current bread and butter may not have the comfort features that appeal to their niche.

The supercharged Evora will sport a 400 horsepower engine under its hood. This power plant can easily manage a 0-60mph blast in less than 4 seconds. The standard Evora will have a 276 horsepower engine that can dash from 0 to 60 in under five seconds.

Financial Times reported that Mazda is tapping fellow Japanese automaker Toyota for some engine components to build their hybrid cars. Their hybrid SUV, the Tribute Hybrid was derived from the same DNA that produced the hybrid variant of their Ford Escape.

Mazda opts to go with Toyota over Ford which has been developing its electric and hybrid technology plus the injected government loan of $5.9 billion to expedite the process. Ford put two thirds of their stake with Mazda in the market last November to raise funds but the two car manufacturers confirmed that they will still be partners in terms of production and product development.

Mazda really planned to develop an in-house hybrid car technology but the very high demand for the hybrids made them execute the plans earlier that expected. Mazda will be sourcing for control units, batteries, and electric motors.

Mazda will be able to launch their hybrid production and have their first hybrid by 2013 if they work with Toyota.

Before this shift in strategy, Mazda first planned to develop more efficient diesel engines. The move though will not be sacrificing the development of their line of petrol and diesel engines in the future. The Japanese car maker is aiming to achieve the same fuel efficiency of hybrid engines with their diesel powertrains.
